Opening day, 2010…and where could we be? Of course, we’re back at Lake Scugog (after we got there – check out the video ;-)) for another round of largemouth bass fishing. It was a mixed day in terms of weather but the main thing to note here is that the fish were biting! Take a look…

This is what we often use to get around…the 16′ flat back canoe with a 2.0hp honda outboard. It’s perfect for getting where we need to….often where other people cannot. The decals on both sides are a welcome addition…FAC Yeah!
The website…
FAC Yeah!!!
The first fish of the day…a decent largemouth caught on some top-water action
Another medium-sized largemouth for Steve…
We thought it was another largemouth when it hit on a spinnerbait in the lily pads…but oh no, not a bass…a big yellow perch!
Probably the largest fish of the day…a really dark specimen
A decent-sized one for Walter…
Then we had lunch…not these things…just thought the pictures were cool.
After lunch, the rain started coming down…but the fish kept biting
And then it REALLY started coming down…
Last one to cap off the day…
…now to get back home. Hopefully all the rain over the course of the day did not make those ‘puddles’ any worse! Anyway, with a rugged Avenger, it shouldn’t be a problem ;-). Overall, it was a great opening day on Lake Scugog. We caught quite a few bass, and missed some great opportunities as well. We’ll get ’em next time. FAC Yeah!
